There are moments in business that feel like milestones, and then there are moments that feel personal.

Being featured on NBC 5’s Texas Today was both for me.

It was exciting, of course. Seeing Ida Mae Home on TV is something I do not take lightly. But more than anything, it felt like a full circle moment. One that brought me right back to where this all started.

It Started with My Grandmother

Ida Mae Home is named after my grandmother, Ida.

She was a quilter. And not just in the way we think of quilting today, but in the way it used to be. It was an art form, yes, but it was also a way of life. Women would gather together, quilt in hand, sharing stories, catching up, and building something meaningful together.

That is what I grew up around.

And that is what I wanted to carry forward.

Today, we are a fully vertical quilted manufacturing company based in Fort Worth, Texas. We design, print, quilt, and sew everything right here at home. That part matters to me. It keeps us connected to the process, to the people, and to the story behind every piece we create.

Built from Real Life

One of my favorite parts of the interview was getting to share how so many of our products come from real moments in life.

Our boot bags are a perfect example. My daughter rides horses, and like most riders, she would toss her dusty boots straight into her duffel bag after a show. It did not take long to realize that something needed to change. So we created a bag just for boots.

What started as a simple solution for our family has become one of our most loved products.

That is how a lot of our ideas come to life. They are not created in a vacuum. They come from the way we live, the things we need, and the little problems we want to solve in a way that still feels beautiful.

Designing with Heart

When I was asked what makes a house feel like a home, my answer was simple.

It should be filled with things you love.

I have never believed that you have to follow every trend or design your home based on what is popular at the moment. I think the best spaces are the ones that feel personal. The ones that reflect your life, your memories, and your style.

That is how we approach design at Ida Mae Home.

We release new collections often because we want people to have options. We want them to be able to find something that feels like them. Whether that is a traditional pattern, something with a western influence, or a piece that feels a little unexpected.

Growing, but Staying Grounded

This year is a big one for us.

We are planning to grow our capacity, which means expanding our team, adding equipment, and continuing to build out new products. One of the things I am most excited about is our pajama sets. They have been so fun to develop, and they tie back to our collections in a way that creates a full experience.

But even as we grow, the goal is the same.

To stay grounded in what matters. To keep creating with intention. And to never lose sight of why we started.

A Moment I Will Not Forget

Being on Texas Today was such a special experience for me and our team.

It was a chance to share our story, to show the pieces we have poured so much into, and to represent something that started with my grandmother and has grown into what Ida Mae Home is today.

More than anything, it reminded me that what we are building matters. Not just because of the products, but because of the feeling behind them. Because at the end of the day, the best homes are not just styled, they are felt.
